After our stormy arrival into the marina at Cape May we were happy to just take it slow for a couple of days as we waited for the weather to improve before we took on the next leg which would be into the Atlantic Ocean. There is an inner coastal route but it is much longer and twists & turns over shoals and some shallow areas.
We broke out the bikes and rode into the down town area which is full of lovely old Victorian homes, many converted to B & Bs and hotels. It was the 4th of July holiday weekend and the town was so full of cars for the firework displays that the bikes were the best way to get around. (& there were a lot of them as well). Some other loopers recognised our looper flag and invited us to join them for docktails. This has happened regularly in the marinas with non loopers as well and we have met some really nice people whom we may meet later in the journey.
Next move is via the North Atlantic Ocean, our first real open Ocean trip, it is from Cape May to New York, a 140 mile trip with two stops.
QLD beat NSW 52 to 6 Darn#%^*&#@ we can't win anything....Looks like you had a good time in Atlantic City..Hows the boat going.. how much fuel per hour etc...
