At last we are sailing- Here we go,here we go, here we go!

Well after 3 weeks of trials and tribulations we have finally slipped our lines, we left St Petersburg at 9am and steamed into the Gulf of Mexico bound for Venice Florida. After an uneventful 7 hr trip we beat a massive thunder storm into the Marina by mere minutes. Good luck for Dawn as we are tied up outside a top notch seafood restaurant. I (Dawn) spent some frantic minutes recalling tying up skills and positioning of fenders, brushing up on chart reading skills and Colin was regularly checking engine temps with his new heat reader and listening for any strange noises. Tomorrow head for Useppa Island and cabbage Key where Jimmy Buffets sister has a restaurant, hence the song Hamburger in Paradise.

  1. Bon Voyage. I think I have Steve worked out how to get onto the blog, so he soon won't be sending emails. We had our own boat adventure. When we were in Queensland enjoying the beautiful weather, Newcastle had a cyclone like event. Our boat dragged its mooring and neighbours and Lachie had a action man adventure and got the boat to the safety of the Marina before it took out a neighbouring jetty and landed on the rocks. I hope the insurance company appreciate the heroics. Have a margarita for me. keep safe.
