Start the Intracoastal Waterway, 3 firsts

Woke up to a Beautiful sunny day with light breeze to cool things off a bit. Had 3 firsts today, First bridge opening ("love your accent"  the nice bridge control lady said on VHF) First running out of water (grounding) took my eye of ball while checking out a nice trawler on a private lift, strayed out of channel, took about 5 min of wiggling to get off, and Third thing ran in the ICW for the first time. We are now anchored up in Pelican Bay, near Boca Grande - Charlotte Harbour, where the rich and famous stay and spend up big, needless to say that's why we are anchoring out. We have the aircon on and a beer and glass of wine is going down well. This first part of the ICW reminded us of the Gold Coast broadwater - mangrove lined banks interspersed with lovely homes. We had a feeling (false) of great power asking the bridge master to stop all traffic and open up the bridge  to allow us to pass through. To Cape Coral tomorrow, near Ft Myers, a contact has offered us her private dock for the night( or two)Should be a good stop off.
