Loopers at Placerville Ca then Tahoe Nv

Arrived at Ted and Sues lovely
home up in the hills, during docktails
watched the local
fauna wander by.
Next day wine tasting and food.

Some Hot Dog.

Had dinner at a vineyard one evening,
live music and beautiful setting.

Didn't seem to be a problem, for some reason

A real hardware store, spent half an hour here.

Town Square

Had a tough reputation on criminals

This was the towns original name

In the Foyer of the Historic Hotel

Texas beer at lunchtime in California.

I dislike Casinos and never waste my
hard earned, however went to a magnificent
Bistro at an Indian Casino, when the girls stopped for a couple of spins on the slots, though for once I would waste 1 dollar,($ 53 ). It paid for dinner.
Sunset at Ted and Sues

Northward to my sisters home at
Incline Village Nevada, great views
of Lake Tahoe on the way
Big Sis and Dawn doing what they are good at.

Lake views from balcony.

Dawn enjoying 5 star service

Followed by a tour of the wine cellar.

Ely to Placerville via H/way 50

Well the little hill to Tahoe
was just one of 3 mountain
ranges we had to cross, so we
got to see some great little
towns, these are in Ely, Just
over the border in Nevada
after Utah
Town was full of Murals

And Casinos, old but still going strong

A great meal here.

Dawn inside, décor was very original

A lot of Motor Sport comes thru here.

Restaurant sponsored another race.

These guys have been following us, Homeland Security ??

Couple of nice Bikes at our Motel.

More stunning scenery.

All from the road

Majestic.

Interesting gas station, big trunks holding roof

Last range 6500ft then Placerville

We made it to our buddy boat
friends home, Ted and Sue from
the Good ship My Dream. We travelled
from Oswego, thru Canada to as far
as Racine on Lake Michigan. It
was great to meet up again, and
so the Wine Tour will begin.

More of the Overland Odyssey toward Tahoe

Mexican Flea Market at
Lubbock. Surprisingly good prices, lot of US and Mexican Goodies.

Dawn Chatting to an Alligator, making sure
she doesn't get bitten again

Want some pots, acres of them

Check these card sharks out.

My Texan Bro in law and little Sis.

The prices on these swingers
and chairs were amazing, around $300
we would have to pay double that
back home in Oz.
Visited a work in progress, combat model plane museum, belongs to
a US title holder, Bob builds all his aircraft and had just
returned from a competition in Australia. He has a 80%
flying replica of a Spitfire which will be stored here also.

Part of the Big Shed

Visited this guys grave
at Fort Sumner New
Mexico, nice little Museum
there.
The Grave

Next stop, Los Alamos, This
is where the Manhattan Project
developed the Atomic Bombs
that were dropped on Japan
to force an end to WW 2.
Area is still a very busy
scientific place. Replicas of the 2 Bombs.
So when we returned to our Hotel, bit worrying to see
the Bomb Squad parked outside.

Some of the stunning scenery as we move through Utah
back through New Mexico and into Arizona

Tourist town of Moab

Over the little hill lies Lake Tahoe.
